Since then, he has developed tools for other Web developers (The Web Classes, The Web Wizards, dbEverywhere™) and a host of Web sites for large multinational companies, government, small business, musicians and not-for-profit organizations. In the last few years, he's created a number of successful projects for the Cloud - moving data to and from the browser and remote, hosted database servers. All of his projects share the same hallmarks: superb, well-documented, efficient, maintainable, high-performance code and a dedication to designing and building sites and applications that are unique to both the needs and esthetics of each individual organization. The following sites and applications represent just a small cross-section of Mr. Katz's work. If you'd like to see more, or contact Mr. Katz about your Web site or Cloud application project, click the Contact button at the bottom of the home page. |
Corning DisplayInsider This Cloud site was developed for Corning's display glass division, the section that develops and manufactures specialty glasses for flat screen TVs, cell phones and computer monitors.
DisplayInsider is one of Corning's major marketing efforts. "DisplayInsiders" have access to technical white papers, future technology plans and trade-show presentations. That's important to Corning because, like Rogers (see below), their point-of-sale is the R&D department of major device manufacturers. This is not only a registration screen, it is the front end of an elaborate, secure content-management system that tracks exactly who is looking at what information. The system can also be accessed by recipients of direct e-mail, allowing Corning to track the success of specific marketing campaigns. Technology: HTML, PHP, JavaScript, SOAP, Salesforce.com. This is a live site. Click here to register and become a DisplayInsider. |
www.broomearena.com Web site of The Broome County (NY) Veterans Memorial Arena and The Forum Theatre.
This is an entertainment site for events as diverse as hockey games, rock concerts, ice shows, ballets and operas. It was designed to have a "showy" look-and-feel and a highly dynamic home page. The billboard on the top right changes every time a new event is added or completed. It includes a dynamic full-page events schedule, vast information for promoters plus a full-blown, secure, private management site that allows authorized county employees to manage events, feedback and many other features. Technology: HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, Flash. Click here to visit the live site. |

Rogers is a laminator, the world's largest manufacturer of circuit cards (the cards themselves), among many other products. As a hardware technology supplier, they market their products, through samples, to R&D departments across the world. Their challenge is to enable their far-flung and diverse sales force to order stock or custom samples from five different plants on several continents without errors and have those orders posted immediately. The samples are very complex, involving a number of variables, which are updated overnight for each region with the newest grades, sizes, thicknesses and other characteristics. Hence, the multi-page wizard interface. This is another high-security Cloud application, based on Salesforce.com, which provides instant information to warehouses and manufacturing to ensure all orders are fulfilled correcly and expeditiously. Technology: Cloud, HTML, PHP, SOAP, JavaScript, Salesforce.com This site is live, private and highly secure. Therefore, you cannot access it directly. Click here to visit a demo version. It does not save data. |
Devlin Black This one is just for fun. Mr. Katz has done a number of Web sites for performers, particularly musicians and bands. Entirely done in Adobe's Flash, this site is chock-full of motion and music, so if you visit the link, make sure that your sound is turned on and up! The artist is Devlin Black, a goth/metal composer and singer headquartered in Los Angeles.
(Note: On new projects, Mr. Katz is animating in both Flash and HTML 5 to ensure that animations will run on the iPad and iPhone) There is so much animation on this site, that the flash, alone, took more than 21 days to complete. But it also has a music player and an entire music video built from photos. When you visit the link, make sure to roll over the menu on the left. The lightning is fun. And click on the "Movie" option to see the video created specifically for this site. Click here to view the Devlin Black site on the KSoft server. |
